Team Dongfeng if Volvo Ocean Race dismasted at Southern Ocean

Team Dongfeng, the Franco-Chinese Volvo Ocean Race yacht group, was dismasted in the early hours of in Southern Ocean this morning. According to reports, everyone on the board are safe. Charles Caudrelier as well as his crew are coming back to Ushuaia in Argentina

Reports suggest that the mast came apart at 0315 UTC today, some hundred and sixty miles west off Cape Horn. It was still dark when the incident took place just above the 3rd spreaders. The yacht crew are able to carry on sailing utilizing a small headsail only, and only on port tack for now, building up at a speed of around 6 to 8 knots.

Mr Ibell told that this has been a great race. Their only target this year was to finish and they have managed to do it and pick up some trophies.

Yacht firm to add 380 jobs, reports

On Tuesday morning, Gov. Rick Scott declared that Merritt Island Boat Works would start a whole new manufacturing facility, making around 380 brand new jobs as well as a capital investment of over US$ 16 million in the Brevard County.

In a statement, Scott told that Florida is on a mission to become the worldwide destination for jobs and it is really good news for the families in Brevard County which 380 new jobs will be included to the community. He added that While Merritt Island Boat Works considered other states for their new facility, they chose Florida as the best place to create jobs.
